Twenty-two year education veteran Angela Looney returns to Mountain Valley Middle School (MVMS) as principal after serving as the assistant principal and academic dean at Canyon Lake High School (CLHS) for the last two years.
She joined Comal ISD in 2016 as campus instructional coach and assistant principal at MVMS.
“It is my commitment to each of you to foster a school culture and climate where every child feels safe, connected and heard,” she posted to the school’s Facebook page yesterday. “I look forward to meeting each one of you. Please know that my door is always open to you. I sincerely welcome your conversation and input. We will be learning together to achieve the highest accomplishments.”
On April 9, the district announced that current MVMS Principal Dustin Davisson would become principal at Canyon High School.
“Currently, given our current situation with our closure this is perhaps not the most ideal time for such a major change,” Comal ISD Supt. Andrew Kim said on April 9. “However, it reminds us that even in the midst of a crisis the normal movements of life still occur.”
He said Looney clearly demonstrated the ability to lead MVMS during her time at CLHS.
