Not many Canyon Lake residents voted in the May 4 Uniform Election, which decided the fate of three new members to the Comal County Appraisal District’s (CAD).
Despite widespread complaints about high home appraisals, only 6,574 of the 45,873 registered voters in Comal County cast ballots.
Numbers also were dismal in the precincts ringing the lake.
Appraisal District Board of Directors (at-large)
Rob Johnson beat Camille Adams for Comal County Appraisal District Board of Directors at Large Place 1 with 2,897 votes or 52.05% of the 5,566 votes cast
Debra Hindman ran unopposed for at-Large Place 2.
Robert Brown beat Garrison Maurer with 3,004 votes or 58.17% of the 5,164 votes cast
Recent legislation passed by the Texas legislature for the first time gave voters the right to choose three of their appraisal district’s board members.
