Monday, Feb. 2 is the last day to register to vote or update your voter registration for the March 3, 2026 Democratic and Republican primaries.
To check your registration status or update your information, visit VoteTexas.Gov, a website maintained by the Texas Secretary of State, or call the Comal County Elections Office at 830-221-1352.
The office is located at 396 N. Seguin Ave., New Braunfels.
Addresses can be updated online but new registrations must be filled out on paper and mailed to the elections office or delivered to the office by hand.
Voters also can provide their registration form to any volunteer deputy registrar.
Persons turning 18 by any election day may register to vote if they are at least 17 years and 10 months of age.
Feb. 17 is the first day to vote early in person. Early voting ends Feb. 27.
Feb. 20 is the last day for Vote by Mail ballot applications to be received. You can return your mail ballot request form through the mail or in-person to Comal County Elections Office.
According to the nonpartisan League of Women Voters of Texas, the U.S. Postal Service has changed how postmarks work, and it could impact mail-in ballots.
As of Dec. 24, 2025, postmarks now reflect when mail is processed, not when it’s dropped off.
“If you drop your mail-in ballot in a mailbox on Election Day, it may receive a postmark after Election Day and be rejected,” the league said in a statement.
The best way to protect your vote is to:
- Apply for Vote by Mail ballot as soon as possible.
- Mail your ballot 7-10 days early
- Take your ballot to the post office and request a manual postmark.
- Use certified mail to track your ballot.
- Hand-deliver your ballot to the local elections office with ID on Election Day.
Feb. 27 is the last day to vote early in person.
March 3 is Election Day and the last day for Vote by Mail ballots to be received.
