Pandemic Closes New Braunfels’ Gennaro’s, Canyon Lake Location Remains Open

Blaming the COVID-19 pandemic, Gennaro’s La Cucina Italiana, 1304 E. Common St., New Braunfels, announced on Facebook today it is closing on Jan. 1.

Gennaro’s Trattoria, 10018 Startz Rd., Canyon Lake, remains open.

“This has been a very tough decision to make but the ongoing pandemic has created much difficulties and we are no longer able to keep this location operable,” a moderator for Gennaro’s page posted. “We love this community and have been so happy to have provided for you over the past five years. We ask you to please continue supporting us at our original location in Canyon Lake.”

Fans of the restaurant flooded the page with condolences, promising to visit the restaurant’s Canyon Lake location instead.

Gennaro’s La Cucina Italiana will maintain normal hours through the remainder of the year. Holiday hours: Christmas Eve and Christmas Day – Closed. New Year’s Eve –  11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
