New Braunfels Reports First Murder of 2021, Selma Man Charged in Shooting Death of Woman

Clifton Adam Meneley is in Comal County Jail, charged in the shooting death of a Selma woman.

A 39-year-old Selma man is in Comal County Jail, charged in the shooting death of 34-year-old Kathleen Josephine Johnson, also of Selma.

New Braunfels police responded to reports of gunfire at the intersection of North Live Oak Avenue and West Mill Street around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival they found Clifton Adam Meneley holding a handgun while standing in the street next to a pickup truck.

Meneley was taken into custody and police discovered Johnson dead from multiple gunshot wounds in the driver’s seat of the truck.

It’s the first murder in New Braunfels since December 2020.

Bond is set at $250,000.
