New Braunfels Woman in Her 60s Latest COVID-19 Death in Comal County
A New Braunfels woman in her 60s died of COVID-19 on Nov. 24 at a New Braunfels hospital, Comal County said today.
No further details are available. The total number of deceased is now 468.
In a statement, the county also reported 11 new cases of the virus, bringing the total to 20,224 since reporting began in March 2020.
Public Information Officer Cary Zayas said county hospitals are caring for 10 COVID-19 patients. Of those, three are in intensive care and four are on ventilators.
Approximately 100% of these patients are unvaccinated. Not all COVID-positive patients hospitalized in Comal County are necessarily residents.
Some 60.36% of Comal County residents are fully vaccinated, she said.
The Public Health Department is administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for those 18 and older, and Pfizer vaccines for anyone five years old and up.
Those who are high risk and qualify for a third dose or a booster also can call to schedule an appointment for a vaccine.
