Texas Water Company (TWC) customers who live in Comal County can water yards, plants, and trees once every other week beginning Monday, Aug. 4.

Thursday, the utility announced it was moving customers from Drought Stage 4 to Drought Stage 3.

Under these new restrictions, customers can water their landscapes every other week using automatic, in-ground or sprinkler systems; hand-watering; soaker hose; bucket; and/or drip irrigation between the hours of 7-10 a.m. or 7-10 p.m.

Watering days are based on the last digit of an address.

Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA), which sets drought restrictions for utilities like TWC, moved its wholesale and retail customers from Stage 4 to Stage 2 earlier this month due to the July 4 floods, which added around 70,000-acre-feet of water to Canyon Lake.

However, TWC kept its customers in Stage 4 conditions after floodwaters damaged infrastructure.
