There’s a cat crisis at the Bulverde Area Humane Society (BAHS), a no-kill facility for homeless cats and dogs.

The shelter’s reached an “historic” and unprecedented intake total of 412 cats and kittens, with no relief in sight.

“Every rescue and shelter around us is facing the same crisis,” BAHS posted on social media. “We are completely overwhelmed and simply unable to take in any additional animals at this time.”

The all-volunteer shelter, located at 3563 Kingsnake, is funded through tax-deductible contributions.
