Canyon Lake’s Breakwater Grill & Cantina closed its doors today until further notice.
The popular restaurant, located next to Canyon Lake Marina on the north side of the lake, did not give a reason for the closure but said updates about future plans will be shared on social media.
This isn’t the first time Breakwater shuttered its doors unexpectedly.
In November 2024 the restaurant closed after drought chased customers away.
“We’re hopeful that, with a little rainfall, we’ll be ready to welcome you back in the spring,” Breakwater shared on Facebook.
Breakwater opened in October 2023, describing itself as the “premier lakeside dining experience.”
Canyon Lake resident Austin Hanna, part-owner of Double Schott’s Sports Bar & Grill in New Braunfels, took over from Baja Icehouse & Grill, which closed in March 2023.
