Search teams have recovered the body of missing Houston resident Michael Talley, who died after a jet-ski incident on Canyon Lake Sunday afternoon.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) wardens and teams from Comal County Sheriff’s office made the discovery around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning in approximately the same part of the Canyon Lake where the accident occurred.

Talley was pronounced dead at the scene by Comal County Justice of the Peace #4 Judge Jennifer Saunders.

His family has been notified.

TPWD will investigate the fatality.

According to Comal County Sheriff’s Facebook page, the accident occurred when Talley made a sharp turn on a jet ski and he and his daughter fell off and into the water. Both were wearing life jackets, but Talley took his off and threw it to his daughter.

She made it to shore, but family who witnessed the accident reported they saw him go under.

SMART Dive Team, game wardens from Texas Parks and Wildlife and several other law enforcement units spearheaded the search.
