Share

Comal County voters wishing to cast a ballot in the May 22 primary runoffs must register to vote by Monday, April 23.

Those who have not yet registered to vote can do so in person at the Comal County Elections Center, 396 N. Seguin Ave., or they can print and mail the application on the Texas Secretary of State website, www.votetexas.gov. Applications must be postmarked by Monday.

Those who did not vote in the March 6 primary can cast a ballot in either party’s runoff election; however, voters who cast a ballot in the primary cannot switch parties in the runoff, said Cynthia Jaqua, Comal County elections coordinator.

No local races are on the runoff ballots; however, both parties will be selecting nominees for the open U.S. House District 21 seat that covers most of Comal County. Republicans also will be choosing a nominee for Place 6 on the Texas 3rd Court of Appeals, and Democrats will be choosing a nominee for governor.

Early voting for the runoff will take place May 14-18.

Sample ballots, voting precinct maps, and early voting times and locations can be found at the Comal County elections webpage, votecomal.com.
