GBRA to Reduce Release Rates Dramatically Monday
Share

In a statement issued this afternoon, the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA) said it will reduce the water release rate from Canyon Reservoir on Monday, Oct. 21, due to continued low inflows into Canyon Lake. As current conditions persist, releases from Canyon Dam will be approximately ~60 cubic feet per second (cfs).
At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, the Guadalupe River @Sattler was 109 cfs.
According to GBRA, over the past 45 days, inflows upstream of Canyon Reservoir have averaged less than 90 cfs, which limits the releases from Canyon Reservoir to that equal to the inflow. Any variations to flows are made in response to rainfall, changes to inflows, or to meet downstream water supply commitments.
Property owners, recreationalists and other stakeholders should take notice of the changing river flows. Additional information about Canyon releases and other stream flow data may be found at https://bit.ly/2NI2HTz.
