Reynolds or Riter for Sheriff?

Share

The League of Women Voters-Comal Area invites voters to ask questions of the candidates for Comal County Sheriff at a public forum, Wednesday, Oct. 19th at the Tye Preston Memorial Library, 16311 South Access Rd., Canyon Lake.

Republican Mark Reynolds and Democrat Fred Riter are vying for the county’s top law-enforcement position soon to be vacated by retiring Sheriff Bob Holder. It is the only contested local race on the Nov. 8 ballot.

According to the League of Women Voters-Comal Area, the forum will provide an opportunity for the public to get to know the candidates. Each candidate will be given equal opportunity to introduce himself and to respond to written questions from the audience. Questions attacking a candidate or addressing only one candidate will not be considered.

“We invite voters to question the candidates about the law enforcement issues in Comal County that most concern them,” LWV-CA President and Library Director Roxanna Deane says.

Early voting begins Oct. 24th thru Nov.4th. The final day to register to be able to vote in the November Primary is October 11th. The League has information about candidates in a printed Voters Guide, available at public libraries after Oct. 23 and online now at VOTE411.org.
