In just a few days, it’s going to be time to say goodbye to 2016 and usher in a brand-new year. Whether you’re looking for the best live music in the Hill Country, a little pre-party exercise, or an all-out ball, you’ll find tons of opportunities to celebrate with great New Year’s Eve events in the Hill Country.
New Year’s Eve 1920s Clip Joint Extravaganza
Travel to a favorite era at Messina Hof Winery Hill Country, during this “swanky evening to dress up and go back in time to the 1920s,” they said. The festivities from 9pm to1am include a dance competition, a dessert bar, and a sparkling wine toast.
Memorial Volkssport Walk
Kick off that New Year’s Resolution a day early, with the 5k and 10k Memorial Volkssport Walk at 9am at Fredericksburg’s St. Joseph’s Halle. Right after you ring in the New Year, the 5k and 10k Midnight Volkssport Walk begins.
USO Style Hangar Dance
Are the 1940s more your speed? Plan to attend the 1940’s USO Style New Year’s Eve Hangar Dance at the Hangar Hotel in Fredericksburg. Featuring big band music from The Lonestar Swing Orchestra, the event takes place from 8–11pm, but come early at 7pm for free swing dancing lessons.
New Year’s Eve with Kevin Fowler
Live music from a renowned artist is the best way to ring in the New Year. This year’s show at Gruene Hall features favorite Texas country singer-songwriter Kevin Fowler.
New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball
Head to Faust Hotel & Brewing Co. in the famous Faust Hotel from 8pm to 1am for drink specials, party favors, and a midnight champagne toast. The event also features music from DJ Rudy.
Schlitterbahn’s New Year’s Eve Celebration
Schlitterbahn New Braunfels offers a truly unique New Year’s Eve experience, “with a bottle of champagne, a pub crawl in downtown New Braunfels on New Year’s Eve, and a FREE shuttle to and from downtown.” After being dropped off by the shuttle in downtown New Braunfels, you can visit all of the area’s bars and then return to a Riverbend Cabin or SchlitterStein Loft for your one-night stay at the resort.
Texas Ski Ranch New Year’s Party
Looking for a place to allow your teenagers to celebrate the New Year? Texas Ski Ranch hosts the New Year’s Party from 7–11pm with food, lights, and dancing.
Die Fledermaus Masquerade Ball
This event is traditional to Vienna, Austria, and the second annual event in New Braunfels aims to “fill you with song and laughter this New Year’s Eve.” The event is presented by Texas Hill Country Opera & Arts and Texas Light Opera at the Seekatz Opera Haus and includes a cocktail reception and a four-course dinner followed by a live performance with dancing, soloists, and a live auction. “The festivities will conclude with the ‘Champagne Song’ and a toast just before midnight.”
Luckenbach New Year’s Eve Ball
Live music by Dale Watson means you can two-step into 2017. The evening also includes a champagne toast and party favors.
