San Marcos’ Riverfront Parks, Other Facilities to Reopen Wednesday

The City of San Marcos will reopen all public facilities, riverfront parks, neighborhood park playgrounds, athletic complexes, tennis, and basketball courts on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
San Marcos’ Tourist Information Center reopens to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. For more information about the city’s river parks, click here.
Children’s Park Playscape will reopen on Friday, Sept. 18 due to previously scheduled tree work. Capes Park, Thompson’s Island, and Rio Vista pool will remain closed.

By order of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, river outfitters cannot lease tubes or transport tubers.
San Marcos City Manager Bert Lumbreras said the area has experienced a steady decline in active COVID-19 cases.
The city asks anyone with COVID-19 symptoms to avoid its parks and recreational facilities.
