Child nutrition professionals at Startzville and Mountain Valley elementary schools helped to prepare 121,518 meals for homebound students-in-need over the last five weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘Lunch ladies and men’ are considered essential frontline workers who support their communities.

Last week, Comal ISD thanked managers and heroes at 10 emergency sites who helped to serve breakfast and lunch on Mondays through Fridays.

According to No Kid Hungry, one of out of six children in theUnited States lives with hunger, and six in seven hungry children do not have access to adequate meals when school is not in session.
