The search will continue Monday for the body of 22-year-old Joel Jijo of Houston, who drowned in Canyon Lake around 10 a.m. Saturday.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) Captain Game Warden Javier Fuentes said additional personnel, equipment and TPWD divers will resume the search for the Houston man, who was last seen in the water between boat ramps 5 and 6.

Jijo, who was not wearing a life jacket, was one of two passengers initially reported missing from a pontoon boat. The other person was rescued by someone on the boat.

Rescuers with the New Braunfels Dive Team, Canyon Lake Fire/EMS and TPWD searched the lake in water depths of up to 40 feet until 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Rescue boats continued the search on Sunday. TPWD will lead the investigation into the incident.

Next of kin have been notified.
