The Comal County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help locating three Smithson Valley Middle School students — “runaway juveniles” –who left school Tuesday afternoon and got into a vehicle that looked like a light-blue Chevy sedan around 3 p.m.
The car’s license plate is unknown at this time.
Anyone with information about Laila Garner, Adamari Perez and Audrey Willhight is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 830-620-3400. Det. Tony Moreno can be reached at 830-643-6699.
On Facebook Tuesday, Garner’s mother, Renee Garner, said the girls were seen getting into a car near the Bulverde Spring Branch EMS Station close to FM 311, 215 Rebecca Creek Rd., New Braunfels. They were last spotted in Spring Branch or possibly Canyon Lake.
She describes daughter Laila as a five-foot-five Ethiopian-American who was wearing a tie-dyed, light-blue-and-white shirt and jeans.
“We think she may have skipped school with these girls she barely knew, but now could be in a very dangerous situation,” Garner said. “…We are very worried for these girls’ safety. I can’t believe I am even having to post this.”
Garner said Laila left the school with two other girls in her health class.
“We don’t think Laila intended to run away, we do believe she has very mistakenly trusted someone that is not 100-percent trustworthy and is now nowhere to be found,” she said.
