First responders are back out on Canyon Lake today, searching for the body of a San Antonio man who fell off his tube as it drifted toward the water intake near Canyon Lake dam around 7 p.m. Sunday.
Witnesses say Roiner Alejandro Rojas Pereira, 19, waved and yelled for help before he went underwater and did not resurface. One of them tried to swim from the shore in an attempt to rescue the drowning man.
Comal County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) spokesperson Jennifer Smith said deputies, Texas Parks & Wildlife game wardens and divers with Hays (SMART) Dive Team continue to search the lake near Overlook Park.
