Recent heavy rains ended Drought Stage 1 water restrictions for the Canyon Lake area.
SJWTX, formerly known as Canyon Lake Water Service Company (CLWSC), Tuesday notified customers they can return to a normal, year-round watering schedule.
All landscape irrigation and grass-watering by automatic, in-ground or sprinker systems is now allowed between 7 to 10 a.m. or 7 to 10 p.m. on
- Mondays and Thursdays for street addresses ending in 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8
- Tuedays and Fridays for street addresses ending in 1, 3, 5, 7, or 9
- Mondays and Fridays for residences or businesses with no address.
No spray irrigation is permitted on Wednesdays or weekends, but hand-watering or watering by soaker hose, bucket, and drip irrigation is allowed any day of the week between 7 to 10 a.m. or from 7 to 10 p.m.
SJWTX advised customers to enjoy it while it lasts.
“While we are grateful for the recent rainfall in our area over the past several weeks, we anticipate reentering a drought stage as normal summer conditions loom,” the company said in an email to customers. “We will continue to monitor our drought thresholds and (will) promptly notify customers with any updates to stage changes.”
