Startz Vet in Canyon Lake is asking its customers to call from their cars when they arrive and stay put until escorted into the clinic and directly to a room by a staff member.
In a Facebook post, Startz Vet said it is monitoring Centers for Disease Control guidelines and American College of Veterinary Medicine (AVMA) recommendations for managing COVID-19.
“If you are exhibiting any signs or symptoms of illness, please consider the necessity of your visit,” Startz Vet posted. “Non-urgent, preventative care should be canceled and can be rescheduled. For urgent care, please consider having a well person take your pet for their appointment. If that is not possible, please remain in your car and we will come to you.”
Anyone who exhibits symptoms of illness while at the clinic will be asked to leave immediately.
Startz Vet will continue to provide refills on prescriptions, preventatives and food. Payments can be made over the phone when orders are placed.
“We will continue to update our policy as the situation emerges,” staff said on Facebook. “We appreciate you, your serious consideration of this matter and your flexibility in these uncertain times.
