CLHS Students Honored Virtually, on Youtube, at Senior Awards Night

Canyon Lake High School’s Senior Awards Night posted to Youtube last week, honoring students in a “virtual video” for their academic merit, community service, excellence and perseverance in the classroom, and scholarships.

Principal Kristy Castilleja commended them for their grit during the COVID-19 outbreak, which forced them out of the classroom and into the digital realm during their last year in Comal ISD.

“I want to recognize the loss that you as the class of 2020 has felt,” she said in the prerecorded video. “These are different and difficult times and you have endured quite a bit over these last couple months.”

Collectively, graduating seniors honored in the video were offered $5,443,752 in scholarships.

Singled out for special recognition were two students “who have shown what it means to be a Hawk and represent the Hawk way,” Nash Young and Madeleine Morris.
