The Dam Community Alliance invites the public to take a 1.8-mile Turkey Walk or run across the top of Canyon Lake Dam starting at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 28 at Overlook Park, 601 Corps of Engineers Rd., Canyon Lake.
In addition to the healthy benefits of exercise, organizers with the Dam Community Alliance promise beautiful views of Canyon Lake and the Hill Country.
“Burn some calories before you eat some calories,” a flyer suggests.
All ages and fitness levels welcomed. Sign up is not required.
The Dam Community Alliance is the official nonprofit partner of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which operates Canyon Lake.
Free Thanksgiving Dinners
VFW Post 8573, 14625 River Rd. (Sattler), serves up its 26th Annual Thanksgiving Feast from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28.
The event also is free and open to the public.
Cowboys for Jesus, 8400 FM 32, Fischer, hosts another free dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28.
In a flyer, the church said no one should be alone on Thanksgiving.
“Join us at Cowboys for Jesus for Thanksgiving Dinner and wonderful fellowship.”
