State Reports COVID-19 Cases in Comal Child Care Centers

Comal County parents can now track COVID-19 cases in area child care facilities.
On Thursday, Texas Health and Human Services Began posted a spreadsheet showing self-reported COVID-19 cases in licensed child care centers, school-age programs, and before- or after-school programs.
Since March, 10 students and 15 staff have tested positive for COVID-19 at Comal County child care facilities. No positive cases were reported on Aug. 20.
The state’s new spreadsheet monitors the COVID-19 status of 1,867 child care facilities. The names and addresses of child care facilities operated out of private homes are included in a separate spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet will be updated Mondays through Fridays by 3 p.m. except for state holidays.
