Thanksgiving Dinners for Community


There are lots of places to give thanks and get full for free in Canyon Lake and New Braunfels this Thanksgiving, courtesy of area churches and organizations.

Most Thanksgiving dinners are free, though donations are appreciated and accepted. This list will be updated daily through Nov. 22. To add your event, please email stephanie@mycanyonlake.com.

Communal celebrations include:

North Shore United Methodist Church
Community Thanksgiving Meal, Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 23880 N. Cranes Mill Rd., Canyon Lake

Startzville Elementary
5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16. Menu includes smoked turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert. 42111 FM3159, Canyon Lake.

Canyon Lake United Methodist Church
Food with friends 5 p.m. Monday nights. 206 Flintstone Dr., Canyon Lake

Cowboys for Jesus Christian Fellowship’s Recovery Group
Free dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 23. “Don’t Be Alone for Thanksgiving. You are invited to our Gratitude Outreach Thanksgiving Dinner sponsored by Celebrate Recovery here at Cowboys for Jesus Christian Fellowship!
