Thirty-Four New Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed in Comal County

Residents wishing to be tested for COVID-19 can call the county’s dedicated hotline, 830-221-1120, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Comal County today reported 25 confirmed and nine probable new cases of COVID-19. The seven-day positivity rate is 6.76%.

Tuesday’s positivity rate was 5.6%.

  • New Braunfels – 22
  • North of Canyon Lake – 1
  • South of Canyon Lake – 3
  • South Comal County – 1
  • Bulverde/Spring Branch – 7

Age Range

  • Under 20 – 9
  • 20s – 12
  • 30s/40s – 6
  • 50s/60s – 4
  • 70 and older – 3

The county now has 304 active, confirmed-and-probable COVID-19 cases. Of them, 18 are hospitalized. The total number of cases reported since the pandemic began is 3,260. The total of deceased remains at 115.

There were another 45 COVID-19 recoveries reported in the county, today. The total number of recovered residents is 2,841.

On Wednesday, Comal County hospitals reported caring for eight COVID-19 patients; of those, one is in intensive care and one is on a ventilator.  Not all of these patients are necessarily county residents; likewise, not all county residents hospitalized with COVID-19 are in Comal County hospitals.

As of Wednesday morning, Public Health has received reports of the following test information:

  • 23, 453 tests conducted
  • 2,584 confirmed cases
  • 676  probable cases
