Three Deaths, 68 New COVID-19 Cases Reported in Comal County Monday

A Canyon Lake man in his 60s died of COVID-19 on Nov. 6 at a New Braunfels hospital, Comal County said in a statement today.

Two other county residents also passed away from the virus.

A New Braunfels man in his 80s died of COVID-19 at home on Oct. 24 and a New Braunfels man in his 70s died of the virus at a New Braunfels hospital on Nov. 10.

The total number of deceased is now 460.

The county reported 68 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the total number reported since March 2020 to 19,866.

County hospitals report caring for seven COVID-19 patients. Three are in intensive care and two are on ventilators. Not all COVID-positive patients hospitalized in Comal County are necessarily county residents.

Approximately 100% of these patients are unvaccinated.

Comal County Public Health Department is administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for those 18 and older and Pfizer vaccines for anyone five years and older.

Those who are high risk and qualify for a third dose or a booster can call to schedule an appointment for a third dose or a booster. The number is 830-221-1150. The county asks callers to be patient due to high call volume.

      When the county issues a statement on flu season we will report on it.
