Thursday: Comal County Reports 50 New COVID-19 Cases, Death of New Braunfels Man in His 60s

Comal County reported 50 new cases of COVID-19 today and the death of a New Braunfels man in his 60s, who died Aug. 4 at a New Braunfels hospital.
County hospitals today report caring for 20 COVID-19 patients. Seven are in intensive care and four are on ventilators. Approximately 89% of these patients are unvaccinated. Not all COVID-positive patients are necessarily county residents.
Some 61.56% of county residents are fully vaccinated (two shots).
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the county since March 2020 is 21,201. The number of deceased is 483.
