Comal County’s Recycling Center, 281 Resource Dr., New Braunfels, will accept natural, tinsel-free Christmas trees and garlands for free starting today through Jan. 15.
All decorations must be removed before drop off. All cardboard will now go into the warehouse.
Hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to noon Saturday. The center closes Jan. 1.
The City of New Braunfels also offers free Christmas tree recycling at its recycling center, 488 South Castell Ave., New Braunfels. The entrance is on Butcher Street.
Artificial, flocked or painted trees cannot be dropped off. Decorations like lights, ornaments, garland, tinsel and stands also will not be accepted.
Drop-off dates are today through Jan. 10.
Hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The center closes Jan. 1.
Trees dropped off at New Braunfels’ recycling center will be processed into mulch, available from Friday, Jan. 2, through Saturday, Jan. 10.
