Tonight’s the Night: Walk the Dam!

Share
Get a closer look at Canyon Lake High School's Ag Mechanics team's welding work on the new gate for Canyon Lake dam's service road. Several students are expected to attend.

For one glorious summer night, Canyon Lake residents can walk the dam’s service road again, entering through a new gate constructed by Canyon Lake High School’s Ag Mechanics team.

Access to the walkway begins at Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce’s networking mixer, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Overlook Park.

The event is co-hosted by Dam Community Alliance, which is spearheaded by Jen Crownover, Comal County Commissioner, Pct. 4.

The alliance is committed to bringing residents together for “fun, fellowship and the betterment of our community.”

For now, that includes making necessary improvements to reopen the walkway across the dam.

Organizers were unable to complete finishing work to the new gate yesterday due to heavy thunderstorms.

Although there’s the possibility for rain today, Crownover said so far it looks like weather will favor tonight’s event.

Several students Ag Mechanics students are expected to attend.

Hi Katherine, apologies for not getting back with you much sooner. We are a newspaper, not the chamber! You would have to contact them directly. But, as you know, the answer is no!
