Tye Preston Memorial Library in Canyon Lake on Saturday said it will close to public access for at least two weeks — from March 16 through Saturday, March 28 — to follow Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for limiting opportunities for people to congregate.
This includes Astronomy Night, scheduled for tonight, March 14.
“We are also concerned that our volunteers and staff may be at risk,” TPML said in an email today, adding it does not have the means to keep the building virus free.
Residents are encouraged to check out the library’s many online resources. Staff will be available by phone, email, or text to answer any questions about materials and access.
Curbside service will be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Items can be ordered through online accounts.
“You may also call 830.964.3744 or text 830.253.4942 or email roxanna@tpml.org with requests for a particular book or movie or for a bag of books or DVDs that you might like. We will bring them out to your car,” the email said.
Wi-fi is available in all outdoor spaces. Gates will remain open during service hours. All items can be returned in the outside drop box.
