Comal County reported 327 new COVID-19 deaths today and 44 hospitalizations from the virus.
The death toll from the virus remains 486. The total number of cases reported since March 2020 is now 22,964.
Some 62.07% of all county residents are fully vaccinated (two shots).
On Tuesday, county hospitals reported caring for 44 COVID-19 patients. Of those, eight are in intensive care and three are on ventilators. Approximately 84% of these patients are unvaccinated. Not all COVID-positive patients hospitalized in Comal County are necessarily county residents.
According to the Texas Tribune, as of Monday, 36.4% of all COVID-19 tests reported in Texas in the last week are positive.
Public Health is administering Moderna COVID-19 vaccines for those 18 and older, and Pfizer vaccines for anyone five years and up. Booster vaccines also are available.
