Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) this week announced its schedule for road repairs and major overlays on FM 306 and FM 2673. A timeline is not yet available, although some of the work could begin in the near future.
TXDOT projects will handle roadway issues for the entire length of FM 2673. Until these projects are “let,” local maintenance forces will address any significant pavement concerns.
- FM 2673 from FM 306 to FM 2722 – Project will perform base repairs, mill and overlay the entire road surface. TXDOT says it will let a contract for this portion of the project sometime in July.
- FM 2673 from FM 2722 to .25 miles west of Canyon Springs Road, the end of state maintenance – These these repairs will not begin until early 2021, after another contract is let.
FM 306 gets seal-coated
- FM 306 will be seal-coated between FM 3424 and US 281. TXDOT’s local maintenance office will perform level-up and base repairs in preparation for the upcoming seal-coat contract in 2020.
- TXDOT is working with an existing baser-repair contract to address immediate pavement issues on FM 306. These repairs are scheduled for completion by September.
Great, again money talks. FM 306 (northside) is a in some need, BUT look at FM 2673 in Startzville (southside). You can barely see the lines in the road. FM 2673 from FM 2722 to Cranes Mill Park needs to be washed/cleaned and new stripping in the worst way. I guess our county commissioner isn’t sucking up to the right people or not sucking up at all. With all the summer tourist $, you’d think enhancing not only the looks, but visibility of the roads would be on the list of priorities.
