The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) today began installing metal artwork created by Canyon Lake metal artist Margie Bivens along the FM 306 roadway near Canyon Lake.
The work was funded by a 2021 TxDOT grant.
Keep Canyon Lake Beautiful (KCLB) applied and won first place for the prestigious Governor’s Community Achievement Award from Keep Texas Beautiful.
“After much thought and coordination with community leaders, we decided to have artwork installed along the roadway to help beautify our community,” KCLB posted on social media today.
KCLB partners with the Water Oriented Recreation District of Comal County (WORD) to focus on litter prevention, beautification and waste reduction in the Canyon Lake area.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for later this summer.
