Canyon Lake’s Tye Preston Memorial Library (TPML) closed on Wednesday after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.
All exposed staff will quarantine for two weeks. There will be no phone or curbside services. The library is expected to reopen for curbside service on Feb. 24.
The book drop on the drive up to TPML will remain open for returns. All reserves will be held through Feb. 27.
“We ask the community to join the trustees and staff in wishing a speedy and complete recovery for the staff member who is ill,” an administrator posted on the library’s Facebook page.
TPML takes every precaution to prevent spread of the virus. All materials are routinely quarantined for 72 hours upon return. Common areas like computers and door knobs are disinfected throughout the day. A professional cleaning company cleans and disinfects the building daily.
