U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will close Canyon Lake dam’s floodgates on Jan. 20 so officials can inspect the flood-control tower.
The closure will affect local river flows and could impact some river users, USACE said in a statement. The dam and associated outlet works will continue to function as intended.
“We appreciate the public’s understanding and support of this mission-essential inspection work,” said Canyon Lake Manager Javier Perez Ortiz.
