Stay off the Guadalupe River on Jan. 25.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will temporarily close Canyon Lake’s floodgates to perform its annual inspection of the flood-control tower.

The closure will affect local river flows below Canyon Dam, which USACE said may impact some river users. The dam and associated outlet works will continue to function as intended.

The Corps did not give a timeline for repairs.

“We appreciate the public’s understanding and support of this mission-essential inspection work,” said Canyon Lake Manager Javier Perez Ortiz.
