Curative Labs today temporarily closed its testing site inside a blue van in New Braunfels City Hall’s parking lot today due to staffing issues associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Due to the rapid spread of the Omicron variant, unfortunately our staff has been exposed,” said Terra Williams, Curative’s director of Growth. “We will be temporarily closing the site. We are doing this to contain any potential risk and spread to the community.”

The City of New Braunfels said COVID-19 testing is still available at many locations including doctor’s offices and local pharmacies like Walgreens or CVS.

The city signed a contract with Curative Labs in April 2021 to provide free testing. The agreement allowed New Braunfels and Comal County to maintain a testing facility while their focus shifted to providing vaccines to residents and conducting large-scale vaccine clinics, New Braunfels said in a statement on nbtexas.org.
