Commissoners Court Meets Thursday to Consider Agenda Items, Proclaim February Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

After time off due to last week’s cold snap, Comal County Commissioners return to their courtroom, 100 N. Seguin Ave., New Braunfels at 8:30 a.m. Thursday to consider a number of agenda items and officially recognize February 2022 as Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.

In addition to reviewing amendments to plats at Mountain Springs Ranch, Clear Water Estates, River Chase, Vintage Oaks at the Vineyard, River Chase and The Pensinsula at Mystic Shores subdivisions, commissioners will discuss and consider approval of:

  • A grant application under the Criminal Justice Grant Program through the Texas governor’s office in the amount of $67,660 to purchase a forensic server.
  • A grant application under the Violence Against Women Justice & Training Program through the Texas governor’s office in the amount of $118,089 to support the salary of a Violence Against Texas Women Prosecutor.
  • A grant application under the General Victim Assistance Direct Service Program through the Texas governor’s office in the amount of $123,613 to support the salary of two Violence Against Women Coordinator positions.
  • A grant application under the Specialty Courts Program through the Texas governor’s office in the amount of $90,155 to support the Increasing Accountability Program.
  • A grant application under the Specialty Courts Program through the Texas governor’s office in the amount of $78,162 to support the Challenge Felony Drug Court Program.
  • A USAA Claim Settlement.
  • Possession and Use Agreements for transportation purposes with an additional payment of independent consideration between the State of Texas and Comal County.
  • A Texas Subdivision and Special District Election and Release form related to the Endo/Par Texas Statewide Opioid Settlement Agreement.
  • A cost-sharing agreement between Comal County and the Comal County Veterans Council regarding the Comal County Veterans Council van.
  • Reappointing County Judge Sherman Krause to represent Comal County on the Bexar Metro 9-1-1 board of manages for a two-year term.
