CRRC of Canyon Lake, the area’s charity powerhouse, introduced new Executive Director Sean Bailey at a team dinner Sunday celebrating National Barbecue Day.
CRRC made the announcement on Facebook Monday.
Bailey replaces the short-lived former director, Jason Derscheid, who was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated in Bexar County on Feb. 26. CRRC’s Interim Executive Director Mike Slough declined to comment on whether Derscheid, former executive director of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) South Texas Affiliate, was fired or stepped down voluntarily.
“Sean will begin as the executive director on 6 June and will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the CRRC and expanding our community support,” according to Facebook.
Bailey served 24 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired as the 92nd Force Support Squadron Commander at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington.
He transitioned to USAA, serving in various leadership positions within Human Resources.
Bailey is married to CRRC volunteer Lanise Bailey. The couple has two children, Tiffany and Brett.
The non-profit CRRC is the Canyon Lake area’s preeminent charity. Services include an emergency food pantry, Meals on Wheels, financial crisis assistance, medical equipment loan program, medical services, job counseling, mental health services, thrift store and an active recreational center.
