Comal County Clerk Bobbie Koepp invites residents to sign up for a free service that alerts property and homeowners about potential fraud.
Property Fraud Alert is an online subscription service that allows residents to have their names monitored by the County Clerk’s office to track possible fraudulent recordings that affect their property.
It only takes five minutes to sign up for the service, she said.
Subscribers will be notified when the name they submitted is used in any recording activities within the County Clerk’s office.
“I am pleased to announce that Comal County has taken a proactive step in providing a free, automated service for the property owners of Comal County,” Koepp said in a statement. “They can sign up and have their name monitored to track possible fraudulent activity…This service will not prevent fraud from happening but it will provide an early warning system that will allow you to take appropriate actions should you believe something fraudulent has occurred.”
