CLHS Robotics Team Advances to BEST of Texas Robotics State Competition

Members of Canyon Lake High School's Robotics team qualified for the BEST of Texas Robotics state competition.

Canyon Lake High School’s Robotics team will compete in the BEST of Texas Robotics state competition from Nov. 30 through Dec. 2 in Dallas.

The team placed second in the Robot Competition Results at the San Antonio BEST tournament on Oct. 28.

The team had the highest point value in any one round in the competition and received a $50,000 student scholarship from St. Mary’s University.

Three other Comal ISD teams also advanced to the BEST of Texas Robotics state competition: Smithson Valley and Spring Branch middle schools and Hill Country Preparatory High School.

This year’s challenge is ‘Incision Decision.’

The field simulates a human body that consists of a heart, brain, arteries and veins.

Teams are tasked with a list of surgical objectives including a brain biopsy, cardiac valve repair, coronary artery bypass, cardiac ablation and other procedures.
