Comal County Elections Coordinator Cynthia Jaqua said she was surprised in August to learn the Elections Office website earned an ‘outstanding’ rating from the League of Women Voters (LWV).

“The reason being is we have so many people saying ‘I can’t find anything,'” she joked.

The League, which maintains its own election information website, vote411.org, knows a thing or two about voter education.

The nonpartisan group, whose motto is ’empowering voters, defending democracy,’ included Comal County in its 2026 list of 80 counties with topnotch sites.

There are 254 counties in Texas.

“Our election website review is an important tool to evaluate how effectively each county’s election website provides citizens with accurate, timely and accessible information on voting and democratic participation,” the League said in a statement.

While the county website provides comprehensive information about elections, including sample ballots and polling locations, the nonpartisan League of Women Voters of the Comal Area (LWVCA) in September issued two voter guides containing specific information about candidates running for state and local elections.

The 2026 General Election Voter Guide for Local Races profiles candidates for Texas State Representative District 44 and District 73; Texas State Senate District 19 and 21; U.S. House District 21 and U.S. House District 35; Justice, 3rd Court of Appeals, Chief Justice, 4th Court of Appeals; Comal Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, 2 and 3;  and Comal ISD Propositions A and B.

Not all Republican candidates responded to requests for information.

Voters also can use vote411.org, the League’s online election information site, to customize sample ballots that can be printed and carried into polling locations.

The site provides information about individual candidates.

Regardless of where Comal County residents find their information about the midterm elections, Jaqua wants voters to be assured of one thing:

There is no such thing as voter fraud.
