Trick-or-Treat Yourself and the Kids to Fall Festivals in the Canyon Lake Area

Pretend the air is crisp and orange-and-yellow leaves are drifting across River Road . . . or just make plans to enjoy some of the best October traditions in Canyon Lake and the surrounding area:

They include (in date order) —

  • Fall Festival and Market at Garden Ridge Market Days. Enjoy 200+ local food, craft, farm and business vendors. Free admission, parking and activities for kids including trick-or-treating. Costumes optional but encouraged. Included in the fun is the 6th Annual Howl-o-Ween Dog Costume Contest. Runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at Northeast Bible Church, 19185 FM 2252, Garden Ridge.
  • Second Annual Fall Fair and Pet Blessing sponsored by St. Francis of the Lake, 121 Spring Mountain Dr., Canyon Lake. Food trucks, LAKEmobile, crafts, live pet adoptions, yard games, pet caricatures, hayrides, pet blessings, live music and more. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.
  • Trunk or Treat at Oak Tree Assisted Living, 1750 Hwy. 46 West, New Braunfels. “Spooktacular” event includes free candy and games.  The fun runs from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.
  • 4th Annual Texas Marigold Festival, Oct. 18-25, 1813 US 281, Blanco. Celebrate the many cultures of Texas and the beautiful flower that is at the center of the season’s celebrations. Festival Market runs from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 27.
  • Bulverde Pumpkin Patch Fall Festival, 3800 West Amman Rd. Enjoy a fun day of hayrides, games and fun activities and pick a pumpkin for your front porch. Runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20.
  • Monarch Festival, sponsored by New Braunfels Parks and Recreation. Fall-themed day of fun, games, crafts, exhibits and activities celebrating the state insect of Texas. Fun for all ages. Six-hour event starts 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 at Fischer Park, 1935 Hilltop Summit Rd., New Braunfels.
  • Trunk-or-Treat, sponsored by Canyon Lake United Methodist Preschool. Community event for elementary and preschool ages. Costume up! Starts at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at 206 Flintstone Dr., Canyon Lake.
  • Downtown Spooktacular offers safe trick-or-treating for kids from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 on the streets of downtown New Braunfels, 500 Main Plaza, New Braunfels.
  • Fall Artisan Market features a diverse collection of handmade crafts, fine art and one-of-a-kind pieces from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at Faust Brewing Company, 499 S. Castell, New Braunfels. Sponsored by the Greater New Braunfels Arts Council, Live music. Free.
  • Fall Festival & Country Bazaar includes a rummage sale, costumes contest, music and entertainment, games, hayride, raffle, silent auction and baked goods. Benefits the CRRC of Canyon Lake, Food Bank & Crisis Assistance, Family Promise of Greater NB, New Life Children’s Center, SJRC-Texas, CROP Hunger Bank, youth programs and other “benevolence.” The fun runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 7420 FM 2673, Canyon Lake.
  • Freiheit Halloween Market and Costume Contest at the Freiheit Country Store, 2157 FM 1101, New Braunfels. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Costumes encouraged.
  • Halloween Trunk or Treat, 13105 River Rd., New Braunfels. Car show includes market, food trucks, music and more. Bring the kids in costume for trunk-or-treating. The fun starts at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.
  • Fall Festival from 4-7 p.m. Oct. 26, sponsored by the New Braunfels Bible Church, 652 TX-337 Loop, New Braunfels.
  • Trick-or-Treating in Sattler, Oct. 31. Details pending. FM 2673 closes to allow kids of all ages to collect candy and celebrate the holiday.
  • Canyon Springs Resort Haunted House, 5-10 p.m. Oct. 30-31 and Nov. 2-1, 691 Canyon Springs Dr., Canyon Lake. $10/adult, $5/child.
  • Trick or Treat, get your candy at VFW Post 8573, 14265 River Road, Canyon Lake, starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31.
