The Crisis Center of Comal County (CCCC) will use a $10,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation to support legal advocacy services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and crisis in Comal County and surrounding areas.

Tiffany Scheutz, the shelter’s chief development officer, said funds will strengthen CCCC’s ability to provide survivors with trauma-informed support as they navigate legal systems, safety concerns, protective orders and other critical needs during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.

“We are deeply grateful to the Texas Bar Foundation for investing in survivors and in the work of the Crisis Center of Comal County,” she said. “For many survivors, access to legal advocacy is a key part of finding safety and stability. This grant helps ensure that individuals and families in crisis have someone walking alongside them as they take their next steps.”

CCCC will open a new, trauma-informed shelter campus on June 25, increasing its capacity to serve survivors and their families.

The center provides emergency shelter, 24/7 crisis hotline services, counseling, legal advocacy, sexual assault advocacy, prevention education, and supportive services for individuals.

The hotline number is 830-620-7520.
