Comal and North Central Bexar counties are under a flash-flood warning until 3 p.m. today, July 15.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly, creating life-threatening flash flooding that may threaten life and property.
Storms will continue through 2 p.m., the U.S. National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio said in a weather bulletin.
At 9:55 a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area.
Some 1-3 inches have fallen and additional rainfall amounts of 2-3 inches are possible.
At least 12 roads (noon update: 26 county roads) are closed in southwestern Comal County, and the Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country, Guadalupe River State Park, and other tourist destinations have announced closures on Facebook.
A tornado warning for South Central Kendall County, northwestern Bexar County and West Central Comal County expired at 9 a.m. Tornadoes were reported in the area but are not officially confirmed by the weather service.
