Comal and North Central Bexar counties are under a flash-flood warning until 3 p.m. today, July 15.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly, creating life-threatening flash flooding that may threaten life and property.
Storms will continue through 2 p.m., the U.S. National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio said in a weather bulletin.
At 9:55 a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the area.
Some 1-3 inches have fallen and additional rainfall amounts of 2-3 inches are possible.
At least 12 roads are closed in southwestern Comal County, and the Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country, Guadalupe River State Park, and other tourist destinations have announced closures on Facebook.
A tornado warning for South Central Kendall County, northwestern Bexar County and West Central Comal County expired at 9 a.m. Tornadoes were reported in the area but are not officially confirmed by the weather service.
