Students can expect an increased security presence at Canyon Lake High School (CLHS) Monday after a threat was made on social media over the weekend.
In a message to parents today, Principal Mark Oberholtzer said additional law enforcement officers will be present on campus but did not provide specifics about the post.
He said false threats can result in possible criminal charges and significant disciplinary measures in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and district policy.
“The safety and seurity of the students and staff at Canyon Lake High School is of the utmost importance,” he said. “As such, we encourage you to let your child know that violence is not something to be taken lightly.”
In March, a 15-year-old student upset about his grades allegedly shot and wounded a teacher before killing himself at Comal ISD’s Hill Country College Preparatory High School (HCCPHS).
