Boaters Beware: Only Six Canyon Lake Boat Ramps Open for Memorial Day Weekend

Only six of Canyon Lake’s 23 boat ramps will be open over the Memorial Day weekend.

As of Thursday, Canyon Lake is  76.4% full at 897.14 feet. The status of each boat ramp depends on the level of water in the Canyon Reservoir. The parameters are not the same for each boat ramp.

Boat ramps still open

  • Free ramps are #6, #17 and #21.
  • The fee for entering Canyon Park, home of #18, is $5 per vehicle for Comal County residents and $20 for visitors. Canyon Park closes at capacity. For realtime status updates, visit the park’s Facebook page.
  • Canyon Lake Marina, #19, is privately operated. The fee is $30.
  • Boat ramp #20 is located inside Potter’s Creek Park, which is operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The fee is $30 for day trippers and $35 for overnight campers.

It is illegal to park or swim at closed boat ramps.
