Body of San Antonio Man Who Drowned in Canyon Lake Recovered

Roiner Alejandro Rojas Pereira drowned after becoming separated from his tube while floating near the water intake at Canyon Lake Dam by Overlook Park.

Texas game wardens, including K-9 officers, recovered the body of 19-year-old Roiner Alejandro Rojas Pereira from Canyon Lake at 8 a.m. today.

A spokesperson for Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) said the body was recovered within the search area.

Rojas Pereira drowned after becoming separated from his tube while floating close to Canyon Lake Dam’s water intake by Overlook Park.

His family was at the scene and notified.

“Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” TPWD said in a statement.
